Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are actually open and may close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home having a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home profits will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying or plan to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who website wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
